Just so, are protestors allowed to block traffic?
Most jurisdictions consider the obstruction of traffic an illegal activity and have developed rules to prosecute those who block, obstruct, impede, or otherwise interfere with the normal flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic upon a public street or highway.
Similarly, can you drive through a protest? “Drivers never have and never should be able to freely hit individuals in a public roadway. If in the event that a driver feels threatened by a protest that has grown out of hand, the law should not negatively affect the non-protesting, non-participating party from protecting themselves.”
Beside above, what if a protestor blocks traffic?
If the protest is legal, you can't drive through it. If the protest is illegal, you still can't drive through it; you should instead take other action. Turn around and find a different route to your destination. Call the police and report what's going on so they can handle it.
Is it legal to block the road?
Blocking traffic is not legal and is not a new practice for protesters. When protesters block highways or streets that they are not permitted to be on, they do risk arrest. However, police are loathe to arrest peaceful protesters, even when they block traffic.
